  I love love LOVE Mediterranean food, and love trying new places that have their own unique take on flavors and spices from that corner of the world. I was super stoked to finally be able to get my behind into Oscar's!
  
  We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday to find a mostly empty seating area, and were sucker punched with awesome smells on our way in. The menu is big and bold, right in the center of your vision as you walk in, and has a pretty large selection of yummy dishes to satisfy even the hungriest patron.
  
  My man has been here a few separate times, and has honestly raged about the food and service; he's played games next door and has had food delivered to him and his friends... unprompted and solely because the folks at Oscar's are fricken amazing. This is my first time though, and frankly, OH. MY. GAWD. It's quite unassuming when you drive by, and the restaurant itself isn't overtly fancy or what have you, but everyone and everything inside is awesome. I have to say, I was wildly impressed and satisfied by every little thing I experienced during my first visit.
  
  After considering my partner's suggestion (koobideh kabob meal), I decided to go for it. My meal was to be served with a generous portion of rice along side a grilled tomato. He was set on the meat combo plate (koobideh and chicken kabobs), and seemed super excited about his choice.
  
  We paid, took a seat at a nearby table after filling up on drinks, and proceeded to wait for the yummy piles of food that would soon be on their way.
  
  A bit of background on the choice of restaurant I believe is in order.
  
  My partner has been here on a number of different occasions; usually playing games next door with friends. He's had a couple of super awesome experiences with the staff and restaurant in general during these visits. These kind people have delivered his and his friends' meals to where they were right next door, and made every single effort to ensure they were happy with their meals and had absolutely everything that he could possibly need. Seriously five star worthy excellent service and graciousness, right!? He suggested we head back, and I happily obliged. After all, I'd never been in (despite passing by almost daily for the past two and some years), so it was about time.
  
  Anyway, our food was sent to the table pretty freakin fast, and ooooh my... the plates were piled sky high!! I almost didn't even know where to begin lol. Everything came out steaming hot and smelled amazing. The rice was even served with a little thing of butter plopped right in the middle!
  
  I was stupidly excited to dig in to the tomato, if we're being honest, so that's exactly what I did. The skin of this juicy number was charred to perfection, and inside was super hot and super flavorful and waaay easy to cut with plastic utensils. It was super yummy. I can't even. The meat was surprisingly tender and spiced super well - it was delicious. There was a small cup of a yogurt cream sauce kind of like a tzaziki that came with it, and it paired very well with the meat. It was a cool, refreshing flavor that complimented the spices of the hot food very well. The meal also came with a generous portion of saffron rice, as I mentioned before, and was cooked to perfection; although it seems like an easy thing to cook, I swear there have been so many times I've received undercooked or crunchy rice from restaurants, but I digress. I added the butter, too, and let me just tell you that I wish I'd have done this in the past. The butter added a subtle flavor and texture to the rice that made it even better than it already was.
  
  My partner's experience was pretty much on par with mine lol. We both loved everything!! I'm happy to report that I will absolutely be back in to try more of the menu!

  We decided to give this place a whirl since we were starving and needed a quick bite to eat.  Unfortunately, this place wasn't that great.
  
  We ordered the gyro plate (not platter) and when it arrived, it was very sad looking.  The gyro meat was over fried to the point that it was hard and very chewy.  The yogurt sauce was runny and lacked flavor.  Sand like feta crumbles were extra and my pita was soggy.  For $20+ dollars for 2, I expected more.  There's a wonderful place near 144th that serves a great gyro with feta and fries for just a few dollars more.
  
  I wasn't impressed, the gyro overall lacked flavor, the presentation was boring and the meat was overcooked.

  Super friendly staff, and great quick option for lunch in Broomfield!
  
  I tried the greek salad with Gyro meat added, and was really happy. The salad was fresh and the gyro added that extra oomph and protein kick that I needed, I really enjoyed it!
  
  The gal at the front counter was insanely friendly, the hospitality was on point!

  Great spot with a variety of menu options to choose from. They've got multiple appetizers, salads, sandwiches, platters, entrees, Pizza! And desserts. I chose to go with the Gyro Sandwich today. It was quite large in size.Grab a fork and some napkins and you'll be good to go. As far as the taste of the gyro, I unfortunately thought it was quite bland... basically no flavor to it. However I definitely will come back to try their other items.
  
  I also got the "dough (yogurt soda)" drink! I had never had this before but if you are a reader who is familiar with the indian drink "lassi" this is exactly what the "dough" tasted like. For those of you unfamiliar with my reference, this is a very salty yogurty drink. I would not classify it as a "soda" because there is no carbonation to it. Warning: It is definitely an acquired taste. I might even compare it a little bit to apple cider vinegar for how salty it tastes. But, having grown up with this drink, I absolutely love it and was excited to see they had it on their menu. They make their own yogurt fresh in store.
  
  Plenty of seating inside. Clean and spacious.

  Well, I am surprised at the great reviews as my experience was quite disappointing on various levels.
  I am sorry to have to say that the owner is not very friendly, and the food not really satisfying.
  My gyro sandwich consisted of chopped salad and tomatoes, a few pieces of meat and a little sauce topping it all. Fortunately, I paid $1 extra for some Feta, which gave it some taste.  The meat by itself was good, the ingredients were fresh, but the sandwich would have been very bland without the added cheese.  So I don't know if it's because there is not enough meat or sauce, but the end result does not work.  My son's chicken kebab was flavorful, so at least one of us was satisfied with lunch that day.  Too bad this gyro sandwich was so disappointing, I usually love this Mediterranean specialty.
